Texas General Land Office (GLO) / Texas Veterans Land Board (TVLB)

West Texas State Veterans Cemetery – Phase I Establishment, Lubbock, TX.

A/E Prime for the 100-acre establishment of the new veteran’s cemetery on the property donated by the City of Lubbock. The firm was the A/E team lead during the due diligence phase for the entitlement of the land, worked with Pape-Dawson Engineers for the Section 106 and NEPA studies and clearances required for federal funding, and led the design team through a rigorous timeline for the production of Bid documents prior to the end of Fiscal Year 2022 funding deadlines. Design elements for the cemetery establishment included an Administration, Maintenance, and Committal Shelter building, burial sites and roadway, civil site, landscaping, and irrigation system improvements. The establishment is currently under construction and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025. U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs

Houston National Cemetery – Phase 5 Development, Houston, TX.

The Project included working alongside the VA Resident Engineers for the 8,000 Columbaria Niche, 2,000 In-Ground Cremation Plots, and 14,500 Pre-placed Crypts for the 10-year buildout to the expansion at the national cemetery. Construction inspection work included civil site, mass earthwork grading, roadway and drainage improvements, new irrigation water well, and interior renovations to the Maintenance, Administration, and Hemicycle Plaza in the existing portion of the cemetery.

The expansion was completed in August 2024, with ribbon-cutting ceremonies held on Labor Day Weekend.

Private Commercial

Austin ENT South, Austin, TX

Design and construction a 20,000 SF Medical Office Building in the City of Austin. As the civil-site lead, work included coordination of site elements with the Architects and Building Team and permitted the project with the City of Austin and sub-entities such as Austin Water Utility and Austin Energy. The project is located on Menchaca Road, which is planned to be expanded with the City’s Transportation Master Plan, and right-of-way dedication was negotiated with City Legal staff. Construction Phase services included regular site inspections, drone flyovers, project closeout for public infrastructure improvements, and permitting for private development. The project was completed in 2022.

Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery – Columbarium Expansion, Killeen, TX.

Design and construction for the 3,000-niche expansion to the Columbarium Plaza, pavement reconstruction at the entry drive, and replacement of existing HVAC equipment. The expansion included the construction of a separate Columbaria Plaza adjacent to the existing Columbaria walls, irrigation system improvements for aging controllers and piping servicing the area, and roadway reconstruction to the Main Entry drive.

The expansion was completed in August 2019 within the scheduled contract duration and construction budget.

Industrial

Smithville Solar Project – Photovoltaic Groundmount Facility, Austin, TX

Design and construction for Civil Engineering services to design and permit the proposed 3-megawatt solar facility expansion in the City of Smithville. Design services include site improvements for the 15-acre site, erosion and sedimentation control, grading and drainage, and water quality treatment for local and state requirements. The project required permitting with the City Smithville and FAA as the site is adjacent to the Smithville Crawford Municipal Airport.

The Phase I expansion was completed in 2022 and the Phase 2 expansion is currently under construction.
